ANA IVANOVIC ROAD TO SINGAPORE 2014: ANA INTO EIGHT PLACE. 8 APRIL 2014

The top seven stayed the same on the Road To Singapore leaderboard this week but a familiar face moved back up into eighth place, with Ivanovic rising from 10th to eighth after conquering Monterrey.
After winning her second WTA title of the year at the Monterrey Open, Ana Ivanovic jumped fellow former World No.1s Maria Sharapova and Jelena Jankovic to put herself back into the top eight, the range that will eventually qualify for the BNP Paribas WTA Championships presented by SC Global. "Last year I lost very early in Monterrey but I had so much fun that I wanted to come back, so to make it this far this year is amazing," she said. "And every title is so special. I had some tough matches this week but I feel so happy to get through each of them, and this title is definitely one of my favorites.
" Ivanovic has been talking about qualifying for Singapore since the beginning of the 2014 season. "This year I really want to make Singapore, the WTA Championships," she said during her run to the quarterfinals at the Australian Open. "That's my big goal. I'm aware I have to work hard towards it. "I had a good start, but there's still plenty more weeks of tennis, and there are still many, many matches to come this season. But that would definitely be my biggest goal for this season."
